Good friends may not share everydetail of every second of their life, but they do try to be clear about theirintentions. This means that they try to present an accurate picture of whothey are and how they respond in different situations. When somethingdoesn"t seem right, they let you know.Besides, a good friend is attentive and adaptable. A good friend afairly good listener and notices how little, day-to-day things affect you.She can"t read your mind, but chances are she can usually tell whenyou"re happy, sad, excited, shocked or upset. If a good friend is awarethat she"s doing something that annoys you, she"ll try to change her waysor at least talk to you about it.In addition, a good friend is trustworthy. True friends won"t try tosteal your girlfriend or boyfriend, your job or your personality. Theywon"t gossip about you constantly or try to damage your reputation.They will let you know when they"re concerned and do their best to stickup for you when you"re in trouble.Furthermore，a good friend clearly cares about you. Different peoplemay have different ways of letting you know that they care. One personmay give you a big hug whereas another might gently tease you. A big

　clue that someone cares is that they talk to you fairly often and, ingeneral, know what"s going on in your life and express interest.Moreover, a good friend sticks with you through good times and badtimes. Loyalty is a quality almost everyone lists when asked what theylook for in a friend. A loyal friend will stick with you when your new playis a flop, when you bomb the SATs or when your parents get divorced. Ifyou move or switch schools, they"ll do their best to stay in touch.So, it’s very important for us to get a good friend.we can say that agood friend is helpful, selfless, confident, hospitable, truthful and honestto his friend.
